More info and footage on using a 35mm Adapter on an iPhone 4 HD video

From the maker of the EnCinema 35mm adapter...a guide to setting up a 35mm adapter for use with the iPhone 4 HD video. This concept can be used with other 35mm adapters as well.

www.WANTOWLE.com will soon be releasing an iPhone 4 vesion for DSLR lenses. But in the mean time to resond to the massive amount of inquiries here is how to make the EnCinema 35mm DOF adapter work with the iPhone 4 HD video unction. You will need to find two (2) +10 37mm Macro close up filters and mount them in between the OWLE and OWLE lens (a +20 37mm macro filter may work too). I found both of my +10’s on eBay. You will then simply screw on the EnCinema 35 Adapter (using the 49mm filter diameter version from http://vid-atlantic.com/EnCinema35.html ) to 49mm front filter threads of the OWLE lens. Align the inner glass within the EnCinema adapter so that it is lined up horizontally and PRESTO! A fun little project!

FOR VIDEO: A great iPhone app to flip the image and take photos using this combo is called “Almost DSLR” in the App Store.

FOR PHOTO: Taking photos with the regular iPhone camera along with the OWLE and EnCinema doesnt look so good due to the different aspect ratio creating severe vignetting. (Although it may look pretty cool if you want that vintage look)The Almost DSLR app allows you to take better still images using this combination.

35mm Adapter for the iPhone

Interesting, looks like the iPhone can be adapted for use with a 35mm lens. The results aren't bad either. Not sure why you'd want to go this route, but interesting none the same. It utilizes the an app, the EnCinema 35mm Adapter
, and a OWLE Bubo mount. The OWLE Bubo mount for the iPhone has a 37mm filter thread which leaves it open for use with other adapters as well. Can't wait to see what might come from this...

DIY Showcase | $30 Spinning 35mm adapter

Came across this today. Flickr user Paul Yakovlev manage to build a 35mm spinning adapter for $30. Looking at the footage the image looks a bit soft, however with some adjustments this could be a decent alternative and an option for DIY-ers.
